The only sports team that we agree on in this house is The Yankees. College football is always a hot topic around here, I'm from San Antonio so Im a Texas Longhorns fan, and Chris is a MIZZOU fan.As far as the kids go Im not sure if they really love the Yankees as much as we do or if they just know that it makes us happy and they go along with it. Anyway we completely agree on MLB though and from the beginning of our marriage we have watched countless Yankee games and have bought (and recieved as gifts) tons of merchandise. We have Yankee posters, pennants, a grill cover, Chris has slippers, wall art, hats, about a million t-shirts, calendars, etc. Chris was even part of the Yankee fan club for several years.
In 2009 I saved up so I could give him the most awesome birthday gift ever, a trip to the NEWYankee stadium to watch the Yankees play the Red Sox! We rode a bus from Portsmouth, NH to NYC with literally a bus full of Red Sox fans (yes there was some sh*t talking) The stadium is AWESOME and we walked around, ate yummy food, bought some souveniers and had a great time. The highlight of that trip was that the Yankees beat the Red Sox and their fans were silent on the bus ride back home :)
